A MOMENT TO BREATHE
A week has passed and I have sat down and dissected everything in my brain. Opening night was nerve wrecking and yet so amazing. Truly a once in a lifetime feeling. With the beginning of the night looking hopeless and gloomy to it ending being wine drunk and selling 8 pieces of work.
My thoughts through out the entire night were just to make sure I spoke as eloquently as possible when explaining my pieces and not to trip over my own feet. LOL. But overall I am thankful for the entire experience and everyone who came to support physically and mentally - you really helped keep my mental state sane through this process. LOL.
I feel like I have finally taken my first big girl step into the art world and set myself on a path of creative freedom and exploration. I can truly say I am proud of the artist I have grown to be.

1ST SOLO SHOW
Back in May I was presented with the opportunity to be a Solo artist with Red Door Gallery. You better believe I accepted immediately! The chance to work with the two amazing women who run it Salonika and Lenda is a once in lifetime opportunity.
So thus begin my journey on deciding what I wanted this showcase to represent myself as an artist. To be frank it was quite challenging. You now have this chance to show the world your work and you are having a hard time just deciding on a theme. LOL.
Well after much deliberation I came up the with the plan that I wanted to experiment as much as possible and push myself out of my comfort zone. Let me tell you, I am so happy that I did. I have been working with materials that I thought I would never dabble in. I found that I have a love for carving stamps and painting on glass.
I think overall this experience has shown me that things don't have to be so very structured and serious. I mean art is literally subjective, create what you are passionate about. I look forward to this show and the outcome and can't wait to upload lots of photos.
